The Cochlear Implant Lab at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

Welcome to the Cochlear Implant Lab website in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto Canada. We are affiliated with the University of Toronto, Department of Otorolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery

Our research is focused on the cognitive and sensory aspects of hearing with a cochlear implant. The overall arching theme of the lab is to understand the neural processes of hearing with a a cochlear implant in order to develop technologies to improve the lives of people with cochelar implants.

We will typically use high density EEG (electroencephalography) to help us understand how the brain processes sound when listening using a cochlear implant.

The lab is under direction of Dr. Andrew Dimitrijevic.
